When someone says Greenhills, the image of a tiangge easily comes to mind. While Greenhills technically refers to the largest barangay in the City of San Juan, most people equate it to this mixed-use development built by celebrated developer Ortigas Land.

That such an image is stamped on our consciousness tells us of the staying power of Ortigas Land. Greenhills Center is Metro Manila’s first-ever shopping complex and despite being an old guard, this place has always been a favorite go-to among locals and foreigners.

The reason for the longevity of Greenhills Center is its adaptability. This Ortigas estate has transformed to meet the demands of the changing times. In fact, it is currently undergoing a multibillion-peso redevelopment to deliver a locale that provides the developer’s live-work-play philosophy to a new generation.

Today, on top of the iconic shopping mecca that hosts thousands of locators, the place is getting high-rise luxury addresses Viridian in Greenhills and Connor at Greenhills. Yet another project that unequivocally speaks of Ortigas Land’s determination to keep Greenhills Center up-to-date is the 21-story office building GH Tower.

This undertaking, ready for fit-out in February 2023, is a homage to the industriousness and entrepreneurialism that have always been present in the estate. But, it also signals a new phase of commerce for Greenhills.

Soon, the building will be populated by IT and business process outsourcing (BPO) companies, plus a mix of local and multinational brands. GH Tower was designed to be modern and flexible, hospitable to businesses of any size. It is prepared to operate 24/7, ideal for those servicing other time zones. It also has provisions for four telco lines and backup power as well.

When employees enter the office lobby, the luxurious interiors will exhilarate them. A reception desk will give them a warm hello. They can then easily get to their floor through the eight passenger elevators.

Ortigas Land also made sure to provide a connector between the GH Tower and the regional mall it rises with. As companies attract employees back to offices postpandemic, this seamless continuity between the workspace and the country’s tiangge capital—its malls, supermarkets, restaurants, a chapel—will be an attractive proposition.

Despite enjoying a link to fun spots across the Greenhills estate, the tower will be safe and secure. Round-the-clock security will be supplemented with a package counter screening and turnstile barriers at the lobby. CCTV cameras will monitor common areas. Emergency response will always be up and running. The structure will also be covered by Greenhills Center’s own security command center, police station and fire station.

GH Tower is ready to respond to workers’ greater concern for their health, a sensibility brought on by COVID-19. Health checks can be done at an entry vestibule in the lobby. GH Tower is also targeting a LEED Silver certification, indicating its commitment to well-being, resource efficiency and sustainability. Among its green features are the rainwater collection facility and double-glazed, low-E glass windows.

The sensibilities of workers and the needs of businesses may change, but GH Towers will keep abreast of the shifts, just like what Ortigas Land and Greenhills Center have done. Greenhills is excited to welcome people and brands who want success. GH Tower heralds a new phase of commerce for the historic, evolving estate.
